Dr. John Lies, DDS
Dr. Lies graduated dental school in 1987 from the University of Missouri in Kansas City. He then entered active duty in the United States Navy as a general dentist after which he received two more years of additional training.
This included a General Practice Residency, (GPR) 1987-1988 and an Advanced Clinical Program in Endodontics, (ACP) in 1993-1994. In 1996 he left active duty for residency training at the VA Medical Center in Long beach California and received his certificate in Endodontics, in 1998.
Dr. Lies has received extensive training in both conventional and microsurgical techniques in conjunction with the use of surgical microscopes. He opened his current office in 1999 under the fictitious name of West View Endodontics.
In 2005 Dr. Lies became a diplomat of the American Board of Endodontics, and as such, is board certified in the specialty of Endodontics.
Dr. Lies is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, (AAE), the Southern California Association of Endodontists (SCAE), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the California Dental Association (CDA).
He also resides on the Journal of Endodontics Scientific Advisory Board and periodically reviews manuscripts for publication in the specialties leading journal. In addition, Dr. Lies is part of the Interdisciplinary Dentofacial Institute (IDI), a group of specialists who invite practioners to meet and to present their most challenging cases for guidance and education.

Dr. Patrick Garrett, DDS
Dr. Garrett attended the University Of California School Of Dentistry in San Francisco.
Upon graduating in 1984, Dr. Garrett was commissioned in the Navy where he practiced general dentistry for seven years. He received a Certificate in Endodontics from the Advanced Clinical Program after which Dr.Garrett served as Head, Department of Endodontics, Okinawa, Japan.
After his service in the Navy, Dr. Garrett accepted a position on the faculty of the University of California at Los Angeles, where he taught clinical endodontics.
Dr. Garrett completed his residency training in endodontics at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Long Beach in 1997.
Dr. Garrett received an Advanced Training Certificate in Microscopic Endodontics from the prestigious Pacific Endodontic Research Foundation in San Diego in 1996.
Dr. Garrett has extensive clinical experience including the retreatment of complex endodontic problems. His compassionate approach makes possible the comfortable treatment of the most anxious patients.
Dr. Garrett is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, Orange County Dental Association and the Harbor Dental Society. Additionally, he is a participant in the Interdisciplinary Dentofacial Institute.
Dr. Garrett is married with two children and enjoys golf, exercise and reading. |
